Ok...so last time I said that it must have been just a little teaser. Now, hopefully, I'm really back, and will be able to post on a more regular basis. I'm laughing as I write this, because I'm saying I'm back, but life is just so busy these days.
I thought that once school started again chaos would not reign supreme...or at least it would have the courtesy of taking a backseat for a while. We're now a week and a half into the school year, and I think things just continue to get crazier. Life is hectic with everything from school, to doctor's/dentists/eye doctor appointment, to football practice and games. Remind me again, why I do this to myself???
Anyhoo...
It's time to start posting again....gotta get back in the habit.
With that said, I'll update you on a couple of things:
1. First and foremost: the basement is now done...mostly :) There are a few minor things that need finishing, but we've officially kicked the oldest kid down to the basement (he didn't put up much of a fight.) and managed to stick the TV, couches, and TOYS downstairs. Guess what that means?? I now have an official living room...or as Kenny would say, a sitting room. A place to visit with guests that doesn't have a gigantic TV or a truckload of toys in it. It's heaven! That also means I get to go into decorator mode...very fun! Here's what I started with....
2. Secondly, I went to a workshop/show/party a few weeks ago, and after careful consideration, I decided to become a consultant for the company. It's called Heritage Makers. It's got some fun products. Basically it's an a company that helps you preserve your stories and create family heritage. They sell products like storybooks (that you create yourself), cards, posters, prints, etc., and are also a place to digitally store all of your photos. (Since I just started, I don't know a whole lot about everything yet.) I know what you're thinking...why, why, why??? Sometimes I ask myself the same question, but the answer that I keep coming up with is, because I love photobooks, and photography. I've always enjoyed scrapbooking, but I've never been good at it because I'm to lazy to get all the stuff out and think about what I want to do, blah, blah, blah. Then I discovered photobooks and digital scrapbooking, and as it turns out, it's just my thing. No mess, just playing around on the computer. So the answer to the why? is that hopefully I'll be able to help other people enjoy creating family memories digitally. If you're interested, check out my website to see more of what I'll be doing. http://www.heritagemakers.com/381373 (one of these days I'll figure out a better name for the site, but until then we'll go with this)
Yes, I know this was a shameless ploy to do a little self advertising, but hey!, it's my blog, so I figured why not? I promise I won't bug you about it too much!
3. Lastly, before my long blogging break I had started a weekly Joy in the Journey program. I think we got to week 2...and then I fizzled out. So, just in case you're still interested I'm going to continue on with the program. Here are the assignments for the first 2 weeks again, and I'll add in the 3rd week assignment as well.
Week 1: Read "Finding Joy in the Journey" by President Monson. Ponder and highlight points that inspire you (if you are doing this with your spouse, share these points with each other). Enjoy an Almond Joy candy bar.
Week 2: President Monson states, "Our realization of what is most important in life goes hand in hand with gratitude for our blessings." Read and mark 1 Thess. 5:18. Make a list of 100 things you are grateful for.
Week 3: Crossword Puzzle
Well, I think I've mombled enough for one day. Have a great week!
